CARE & MAINTENANCE GUIDE

Proper care and maintenance will keep your Vault Blinds looking beautiful and functioning perfectly for years. Below are specific cleaning instructions and maintenance tips for each of our premium window covering collections.

HONEYCOMB & CELLULAR BLINDS

Regular cleaning: Use a feather duster or soft brush vacuum attachment on low suction to gently remove dust from the cells. Work from top to bottom, following the direction of the pleats. For best results, dust weekly to prevent buildup inside the honeycomb cells.

Spot cleaning: For stains, use a clean white cloth dampened with lukewarm water and a small amount of mild dish soap. Blot gently — never rub. Allow to air dry completely before raising the blind.

Deep cleaning: For a thorough clean, remove the blind from the brackets and soak in a bathtub with lukewarm water and mild detergent for 15 minutes. Rinse gently and hang to dry completely before reinstalling. Never use a washing machine or dryer.

ZEBRA BLINDS

Regular cleaning: Dust with a soft cloth or feather duster while the blind is in the closed position. The polyester fabric is naturally resistant to dust accumulation. For routine maintenance, a quick wipe with a dry microfibre cloth is sufficient.

Spot cleaning: Use a damp cloth with mild soap to gently blot any marks or stains. Work from the outside of the stain inward to prevent spreading. The dual-layer fabric dries quickly and resists water marks.

Important: Never submerge zebra blinds in water as this can damage the alternating band alignment. Avoid abrasive cleaners, bleach, or solvents.

ROLLER SHADES

Regular cleaning: With the shade fully extended, use a soft cloth or vacuum with brush attachment to remove dust. For sunscreen fabrics, a lint roller works well to pick up fine particles from the mesh weave.

Spot cleaning: Dampen a clean cloth with warm water and mild soap. Gently wipe the affected area and blot dry. For stubborn marks on PVC-coated blackout fabrics, a magic eraser can be used carefully.

Roller mechanism: If the roller becomes sluggish, check for dust buildup in the brackets. A light spray of silicone lubricant on the pin ends will restore smooth operation. Never oil the spring mechanism.

DUAL SHEER BLINDS

Regular cleaning: Gently dust the fabric vanes with a soft cloth or compressed air while in the open (flat) position. The delicate sheer layers require careful handling — avoid pressing hard on the vanes.

Spot cleaning: Use a barely damp cloth to blot any marks on the sheer fabric. Never scrub or apply pressure to the vanes as this can distort their shape. Allow to air dry in the open position.

Important: Dual sheer blinds should never be machine washed, dry cleaned, or submerged. Professional ultrasonic blind cleaning is recommended for deep cleaning.

DREAM DRAPE BLINDS

Regular cleaning: Rotate the vanes to the open position and dust each vane individually with a soft cloth or duster. Work from top to bottom. The vertical orientation means less dust accumulation than horizontal blinds.

Spot cleaning: Gently blot stains with a damp cloth. For the sheer backing panel, use a lint roller to remove pet hair or fine particles. Avoid pulling or stretching the fabric vanes.

Track maintenance: Periodically check the track for smooth traversing. If the carriers become stiff, apply a small amount of silicone spray to the track channel. Ensure the wand or cord mechanism operates freely.

MOTORIZED COMPONENT CARE

Battery-powered motors: Replace batteries annually or when operation becomes sluggish. Use high-quality alkaline or lithium batteries as recommended. Remove batteries if the blind will not be used for extended periods.

Hardwired motors: No regular maintenance required. If the motor becomes noisy or unresponsive, contact our support team for diagnosis.

Remote controls: Keep remotes away from water and extreme temperatures. Replace batteries when the signal range decreases. Re-pair remotes after battery replacement if needed.
